The FLEXlm License Manager, from GlobeTrotter Software Inc, simply and transparently authorizes copies of OmniMark for use based on the number of current users you have licensed. OmniMark can be licensed for one of two types of configuration:
The license manager has four main components:
In addition to the four license manager server components, there is the OmniMark client, "omnimarkd".
The license manager server handles the initial contact with the application programs. It delegates the license handling to the appropriate vendor server, which keeps track of how many licenses are checked out and who has them. It also starts, kills, and restarts the vendor server.
Both the vendor server and the license manager server get their information from the license file. The license file contains information about the server nodes, the vendor server, and the licensed features. A license may involve more than one feature.
The license manager runs independently of the OmniMark clients, and may be on a different platform than any of the clients.
