Punctuation characters in an OmniMark program usually occur:
- as OmniMark operators, such as the
plus
or minus
signs.
- as parentheses used to group parts of an expression.
- as parentheses used to surround lists of names in certain actions or rules.
- in function calls and definitions that use parentheses to enclose the argument list and commas to separate the arguments.
- as macro names, or in separators between macro arguments.
The hyphen ("-") can occur as the minus
operator, as part of a name, or to indicate a negative number. Because of this, it is strongly recommended that when used as an operator, the hyphen be surrounded by white space.
