OmniMark provides built-in counters to report the number of SGML or XML errors and warnings that are encountered. Although it is simple for a programmer to provide a markup-error rule that does exactly this, it is likely going to be commonly required information, and it makes sense for OmniMark to provide it in a consistent way.
