About OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine

OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine is a programmable streaming content transformation engine. OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine runs content transformation scripts written in the OmniMark scripting language.

To run OmniMark scripts from source in OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine:

  1. In OmniMark Studio or OmniMark Studio for Eclipse, write and debug your script.
  2. In OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine, run the file using the -s command line option.

To run compiled OmniMark scripts in OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine:

  1. In OmniMark Studio or OmniMark Studio for Eclipse, create a Virtual Machine Code file (.xvc file) from your project.
  2. In OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine, run the file using the -load command line option.

You can write and compile OmniMark scripts using OmniMark Studio or OmniMark Studio for Eclipse. OmniMark Studio and OmniMark Studio for Eclipse can both compile OmniMark source code into byte code which is executed by OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine. Compiled OmniMark scripts have the extension ".xvc". OmniMark ".xvc" files are platform-independent; .xvc files produced by OmniMark Studio or OmniMark Studio for Eclipse can be run by OmniMark Professional Desktop Engine on all supported platforms.
